The visit of H.E. Ms. Wiebke Oeser, Consul of Germany in Sibiu, on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, reconfirmed an essential fact: the relationship between G.E. Palade UMPhST of Targu Mures and the German academic and institutional space is profound and future-oriented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of the 1,705 international students at G.E. Palade UMPhST of Targu Mures, 512 are from Germany: 321 in Hamburg and 191 in Targu Mures. This reality speaks volumes about the trust enjoyed by our university within the German educational environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The cooperation between G.E. Palade UMPhST of Targu Mures and Germany already has strong substance. Within the European university alliance DIVERSE, the university collaborates with two German institutions: Technische Hochschule N\u00fcrnberg Georg Simon Ohm and Rosenheim Technical University of Applied Sciences. At the same time, academic and professional partnerships with German universities and institutions continue to expand, both in the medical and technological fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An important point of the dialogue concerned the development projects of the \u201cGeorge Emil Palade\u201d University Hospital and prospects for cooperation with German partners in intensive care medicine and digital medicine. At the same time, discussions addressed the use of German expertise in dual technical education within the ERGOPOLIS project, as well as the expansion of academic and economic partnerships with German universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fact that this visit took place on the very Day of Friendship between Romania and the Federal Republic of Germany gives this dialogue an even stronger significance. This day has been marked annually on 21 April since 2024, highlighting the importance of Romanian\u2013German bilateral relations, built on cooperation and shared values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For G.E. Palade UMPhST of Targu Mures, the relationship with Germany means students, partnerships, projects, institutional trust, and a European academic construction that is already reflected in concrete results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
