The aim of the university master’s degree program in: Drug, Food, and Environment Quality is part of the broader mission of the university as it contributes to the development of education and scientific research. The Medicinal Chemistry program is focused on the discovery, development, identification and interpretation of the action of biologically active compounds at the molecular level. Thus:

• Knowledge about chemical structure-pharmacological activity relations, chemical retrosynthesis concepts and mastery of computational chemistry techniques are what makes the medicinal chemist an important partner to the pharmacist/doctor when it comes to pharmaceutical research and innovation.
• By mastering the main analytical methods, the medicinal chemistry specialist will be able to elucidate, control and confirm the identity of synthesized compounds, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, will have the complex training in biology and chemistry required to perform clinical and pharmaceutical laboratory analyses.
• Management, marketing and administration of analytical laboratories complete the range of skills acquired by graduates of this program.

Medical cosmetics represents a complex approach to the beauty and health of the skin on the face and the body, combining both medical methods and techniques as well as cosmetic treatments, while the technology of cosmetic products provides the necessary framework for understanding the composition, production and action of the products involved. The objectives of the study program are to train professionals and leaders in a flourishing sector of the labor market, namely the cosmetic sector, by equipping them with:

• thorough theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of cosmetic products;
• knowledge on the chemistry, technology and analysis of cosmetic products;
• practical skills required to perform simple procedures for body beauty maintenance.

As a result of their academic training, the pharmacist will have specialized skills which provide scientific authority in the fields of pharmaceutical analysis and technology, pharmacology and clinical pharmacy, toxicology, as well as in meeting social requirements (fulfilling the population's need for information, education and prophylaxis).

The objective of the Drugs from use to abuse. Pharmacovigilance and regulation Master's degree program is the training of specialists in the field of pharmacovigilance and clinical trials involving drugs, specialists who will improve the medical system through active involvement in monitoring the efficacy and safety of pharmacotherapy, critical assessment of drug intoxications, identification and reporting of adverse reactions, development of substance misuse reduction plans and optimization of therapy on pharmacokinetic, clinical and paraclinical criteria. Professional training will be provided by specialists in the fields of pharmacology, toxicology, laboratory analysis and related areas of applicable legislation (law).

Starting with the academic year 2023-2024, the master's students, supported by Astra Zeneca, will have the opportunity to carry out a practical training at the Pharmacovigilance Centre of Excellence in Târgu Mureș.

The 21^st century is a century of population metabolic diseases, which are based on major nutritional imbalances; this is the case of diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemias, cardiovascular diseases, whose incidence, already high, is continuing to increase. The range of therapeutic measures applicable to these conditions is fundamentally based on prompt, integrated, and continuous nutritional intervention. Their prevention likewise requires the implementation, at the population level, of a new lifestyle that includes principles of healthy nutrition. The educational process offered by this study program ensures the formation of new knowledge, skills and abilities, which will serve both for professional training and as a communication and inter-relationship link with other specialists in the health field. The nutritionist plays an important role in maintaining health, physical performance, in the prevention and treatment of various diseases, in community education, in the development of public health policies, food service management, food quality expertise and consumer information.
