UMFST High School Students in the Grand Finale of the AI for Good Robotics Competition

Students of the UMPhST “George Emil Palade” High School, guided by teachers Andreea Focșan and Peres Gyula Daniel, won first place at the national contest of the “AI for Good” Robotics Competition, which brought together students passionate about computer science and technology from across the country.

The eight students from UMPhST High School team were challenged to design, build and program a robot capable of completing missions on a game board simulating current global challenges, such as food security  – the theme of this year’s edition.

Through creativity, dedication and well-developed critical thinking, our students managed to create an innovative project and stand out in a high-level competition.

As a result of this outstanding achievement, the UMPhST High School team has qualified for the grand finale, scheduled to take place from July 7–10, 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Congratulations to the students for their perseverance and to the teachers for their guidance!
