The Rector of G.E. Palade UMPhST of Targu Mures, Prof. Leonard Azamfirei, participated on 23 May 2026 in an event dedicated to the Romanian medical diaspora, where he presented UMPhST and the “George Emil Palade” University Hospital as expressions of an academic and medical vision that brings together education, research, innovation, and high-level medical practice.
The meeting, initiated by the Embassy of Romania in the United Kingdom and Ambassador Laura Popescu, brought together more than 100 Romanian doctors practicing in the United Kingdom, many of them in excellent professional positions, with solid backgrounds and a real willingness to actively get involved in projects in Romania.
