Dear fellow students
and teaching staff,
The Petru Maior Faculty of Sciences and Letters has a considerable tradition in the university education of Mureș County, offering study programs in a variety of fields. Connected to the great challenges of the digital era, the Petru Maior Faculty of Sciences and Letters of Târgu Mureș has developed a generous curriculum for the preparation of successful careers in the creative industries, in the educational system, in large national and international companies. By developing strategic partnerships with the private sector, the faculty provides the opportunity to acquire skills that are always updated to the requirements of the labor market. Additionally, the professional experience acquired during the years of study and the contact with specialists in the field of training, offer graduates the possibility of employment in the studied field, both within the partner companies of the university and in various corporations and development projects in search of qualified employees.
From the perspective of employment opportunitie, all graduates of the Petru Maior Faculty of Sciences and Letters have a fairly rich range of options. Regardless of the chosen field, graduates of our Faculty go on to build careers in research institutes, in the media, become cultural entrepreneurs, translators, PR managers, officials in national and international public institutions, in international governmental and non-governmental organizations and, speaking from experience, I can say that graduates of humanities, social sciences or of the fields of physical education and sports can adapt with maximum ease in any field. In recent years, the Petru Maior Faculty of Science and Letters has paid increased attention to this aspect, carrying out a curricular reform aimed at correlation with the main university centers in the world as well as with the needs and demands of the labor market in Romania. Hence, along with the specific competencies of each field of study, great attention has been paid to the development of transversal competencies that are increasingly important in a dynamic labor market.
Aspects such as communication skills, knowledge of cultures, literatures, history and political systems, outlooks, public relations strategies grant them a significant edge in their future careers.
