The Bachelor's Degree Program in History is intended for high school graduates who want to deepen their knowledge of the past, but also to those who have already acquired a professional qualification and are passionate about history. Through the educational offer structured in the form of the education plan but also through the extracurricular opportunities offered – the Erasmus program, documentation trips, laboratories and research centers, volunteering – and through the active involvement of the faculty, students will be able to acquire not only a set of abstract knowledge about the past but will also obtain the necessary framework and resources to develop professionally as well as personally.

The Bachelor's Degree Program in History is constantly updated according to the current requirements of society. The course catalog is adapted to contemporary concerns – the history of religions, nations and nationalisms, international relations, the history of art, the history of women and gender relations, digital history, history and cinema – so as to allow the graduates a better insertion on the labor market.

The mission of Bachelor's Degree Program in History is connected to the needs of the labor market and the profile of the employee of the future. The student's educational path aims for:

  • the training of specialists in the field of history, according to scientific and educational, national and European standards;
  • the provision of the conditions for the graduates of the university of this particular specialization to train according to a new paradigm of education, acquiring skills and abilities that will allow them to work freely and responsibly in the democratic and constitutional state in the future;
  • the training of as many students as possible in scientific research, in order to increase the level of their instruction, but especially to shape them as researchers with a sense of critical thinking and inovation in their work;
  • the participation of members of the academic community in national and international scientific research programs, in regional and national cultural development to educate the city values.

At the same time, the mission of the Bachelor's Degree Program in History is to contribute to the development of key skills for the jobs of the future: creativity, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, active learning, interpersonal communication, leadership skills, cultural intelligence, technological and digital skills

An analysis of the past decades shows that the study of history has seen innovative experiences. Generally speaking, this renewal was due to the openness to multidisciplinarity. History can contribute to the understanding of the present, through authentic, professional reconstruction of the past. Thus, among the perspectives of the History degree program we note: History remarcăm:

  • the improvement of the quality of the teaching-learning process and continuous curricular compatibility with similar specializations in the national and international university environment;
  • the increase in the quality and relevance of scientific research, as well as the improvement of the scientific research evaluation system;
  • the development of partnerships, particularly with institutions employing specialists in the field of history, with the network of upper secondary education, with cultural institutions, didactic and scientific collaboration with other specialized departments in the country as well as abroad.
  • The retrieval of information about the historical past – the development of critical thinking, creativity;
  • The establishment of historical facts based on information from and outside sources – the development of critical thinking, creativity and computational thinking;
  • The oral and written presentation of specialized knowledge – the development of writing and science communication skills;
  • The use on a basic level of the methods specific to an auxiliary science of history (Cyrillic/Slavic/Latin paleography, etc., epigraphy)
  • The use of the basic concepts and methods of at least one other field of Humanities or of a frontier discipline between history and other sciences (sociology, anthropology, art history, economics, psychology, philosophy, etc.);
  • The production of new historical knowledge based on in-depth knowledge of an era and/or historical issues of medium complexity – the development of critical thinking, emotional intelligence, cultural intelligence, creativity;
  • The use of digital skills – the development of creativity, openness to approaching emerging areas of knowledge such as digital learning, virtual reality.
