The Faculty of International Medical Studies (FIMS) adheres to the academic standards required to train high-performing physicians. Currently, over 2,300 students from 105 countries across five continents are pursuing their studies at the two campuses: the campus in Târgu-Mureș and the campus in Hamburg, Germany (UMCH). This year, the faculty will offer three bachelor’s programmes and two master’s programmes.
Academic Programmes – Bachelor’s Degree Programmes:
- Medicine in English – Târgu Mureș (6 years, English)
The university is accepting applications for this programme on a rolling basis, with four interview sessions taking place between March and September 2026.
This programme, conducted annually in four teaching modules, supports the university’s internationalization process by providing an intercultural academic environment that combines tradition with innovation and human interaction with the optimal use of modern technologies.
Student-centered medical education provides not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills essential for the development of a well-rounded professional. In addition to clinical training at the patient’s bedside, students benefit from modern learning facilities: 3D virtual learning platforms, e-learning platforms, and research centers that emphasize integrating young professionals into teams with existing experience in the field. Participation in research activities provides them with a solid foundation for pursuing doctoral studies.
- Medicine in English – Hamburg, Germany (6 years, English)
At the Hamburg campus, students have access to state-of-the-art teaching facilities as well as clinical training conducted at over 30 partner medical institutions across the European Union (Germany, Spain, Italy, Lithuania, Malta). 3D virtual learning, e-learning platforms, and live-streamed courses from state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories ensure that students are trained to the highest standards.

Starting with the 2026/2027 academic year, the university’s educational offerings will be expanded to include 100 spots for this programme (ARACIS decision dated April 2, 2026). Admission to this programme is rolling, with three interview sessions taking place between June and September 2026. This achievement represents a new milestone in strengthening UMFST’s international academic dimension and concretely reflects the university’s strategic direction toward internationalization, through the diversification of study programmes and the expansion of its openness to the European and global educational landscape.
