Description

The Machine Building Technology study program is part of the Industrial Engineering and Management Department, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. The Machine Building Technology division was established in 1984, within the Sub-engineering Institute in Târgu Mureș, and has progressed continuously as a major of higher engineering education in Mureș, refined and adapted to the current industrial needs of today’s world. The program, certified by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, has a school tuition capacity of 75 students/year. The young graduates’ core competences, acquired within the Machine Building Technology study program, are targeted to the design, planning, quality assurance, management and coordination of modern technological manufacturing processes, by using state-of-the-art digital platforms.

Professional skills

  • Performing calculations, demonstrations and applications to solve specific industrial engineering tasks, based on knowledge of fundamental sciences;
  •  Associating domain-specific technical science skills, principles and methods with graphical displays, in order to solve specific tasks;
  • Using software applications and digital technologies for solving tasks that are specific to industrial engineering, in general, and to computer-aided product design in particular;
  • Developing technological manufacturing processes;
  • Designing and operating manufacturing equipment;
  • The planning, management and quality assurance of manufacturing processes.

  • Responsible task performance, in a restricted autonomy and professional independence context;
  • Assuming leadership roles/positions in the professional groups’ activity;
  • The objective self-assessment of the ongoing professional training needs, in order to achieve a constant adjustment to the labor market and its dynamic requirements;
