The master’s degree programme Clinical and Community Nutrition is part of the Faculty of Medicine’s educational offering at the “George Emil Palade” University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Târgu Mureș. The educational process takes place in a modern environment equipped with lecture theatres and laboratories for practical activities, all meeting European standards. The programme highlights the importance of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle in maintaining and improving population health.

• formulation, research, and application of advanced concepts in medicine and physico-chemistry;
• recognition and thorough understanding of nutritional requirements specific to various pathologies and target groups;
• analysis and synthesis of health- and nutrition-related issues, including the advanced assessment of nutritional imbalances and formulation of appropriate dietary therapies, alongside an understanding of social and health policy frameworks;
• comprehensive analysis of pharmacotherapy principles and food–drug interactions;
• psycho-nutritional counselling through the application of communication principles to promote healthy eating habits;
• application of advanced medical biostatistics methods based on nutritional indicators, in full compliance with healthcare legislation in the field.
 
Transversal competencies

 

• identification of objectives to be achieved, available resources, working conditions, stages, timelines, deadlines, and associated risks;
• recognition of roles and responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team, applying effective interpersonal and teamwork techniques, including patient interactions;
• efficient use of informational resources and professional development tools, including online databases, specialist software applications, and professional courses.
 
Career perspectives

 

The programme concludes with the presentation of a dissertation. Graduates of the master’s programme Clinical and Community Nutrition will find career opportunities in:
