Description

The Dental Technology Study Program is part of the UMFST G.E. Palade Târgu Mureș Faculty of Dental Medicine. The development of a modern, dynamic educational process, with complex activities is guaranteed by this education and research base at European Standards, comprising of the Integrated Center for Dental Medicine, the Simulation and Dental Imaging Department, teaching and research laboratories, as well as numerous facilities for students. Under the demanding guidance of the faculty’s teaching staff, we carry out a wide range of specialized procedures, within the clinical and practical components of the educational process and in complete correlation with the entrepreneurial character of the dental technician profession.

Professional skills

  • Appropriate use of principles underlying the morphology and functionality of the dento-maxillary apparatus;
  • Use of materials, appliances and work equipment notions that are specific to dental technique laboratory;
  • The design and manufacture of fixed prosthetic restorations (covering crowns, dental bridges);
  • The design and manufacture of mobile, removable and composite prosthetic restorations;
  • Carrying out activities in specific fields: orthodontics and maxillofacial surgery;
  • Managing the theoretical and legislative bases of operational health systems in Romania, as well as the managerial aspects concerning the dental technique laboratory.

 

Transversal skills

  • Implementing strategies for correctly identifying, analysing and performing assigned and assumed tasks, as well as for establishing an optimal patient and co-workers relationship, both in a professional and natural setting;
  • Correct identification of roles and responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team and the applying of effective networking techniques and work flow within the doctor-dental technician team, as well as with regards to the patient;
  • Reviving of medical knowledge by using active learning methods and techniques, as well as fact-finding sources, both in Romanian and in an international language.
