The master’s programme Advanced Laboratory Techniques is part of the educational offering of the Faculty of Medicine at George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science and Technology of Targu Mures. It focuses on training specialists in laboratory medicine who possess both practical and theoretical knowledge, enabling them not only to perform laboratory analyses in various fields but also to ensure the quality of these analyses.

The educational process within this programme provides advanced knowledge, competences and abilities that contribute to professional development, as well as effective communication and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Applying correct procedures for collecting biological samples and identifying their key quality characteristics;
Operating and supervising laboratory equipment;
Implementing testing techniques appropriate to specific needs;
Validating laboratory analysis methods;
Interpreting and processing analytical data;
Using medical and laboratory software to analyse results;
Producing reliable results that demonstrate the quality of laboratory determinations.

 

Transversal Skills

Undertaking projects under supervision to solve field-specific problems, with accurate assessment of workload, available resources, required time and potential risks, while adhering to ethical and professional standards, and occupational health and safety regulations;
Collaborating responsibly within multidisciplinary teams to complete tasks and projects;
Preparing, editing and defending a dissertation (master’s thesis) in both Romanian and an international language on a current topic in the field, using diverse information sources and research tools.
