The pharmacist has a significant social impact, being the specialist involved in developing, testing, producing, analyzing, controlling and distributing medicines. All these require a high level of theoretical and practical inter- and transdisciplinary training, both in the field of physicochemical and medico-biological sciences. As a result of their academic training, the pharmacist will have specialized skills which provide scientific authority in the fields of pharmaceutical analysis and technology, pharmacology and clinical pharmacy, toxicology, as well as in meeting social requirements (fulfilling the population’s need for information, education and prophylaxis).
