The Master’s degree programme in Industrial Processes Automation Control Systems („Sisteme Automate de Conducere a Proceselor Industriale” in Romanian language, abbreviated as SACPI) has been organized under various names and was initially authorized as 1 year programme by H.G. 45380/20.12.2000 at the „Petru Maior” University of Targu Mures. Based on ARACIS approval no. 2958 from 31.03.2010, the SACPI master’s degree programme was reorganized to 2 years/4 semesters (with a total of 120 ECTS). Subsequently, the study programme was periodically evaluated and reaccredited by ARACIS according to approvals no. 6235 from 22.07.2013, no. 783 from 08.02.2019, and 2024. Currently, the SACPI programme is functioning within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures (G.E. Palade UMPhST of Targu Mures was formed through the merger between the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Targu Mures and the „Petru Maior” University of Targu Mures), with a full-time study programme and enrollment capacity of 30 students per year.

The master’s degree programme is updated to the requirements of the labor market, according to the technological evolution and the demand for highly qualified specialists in the field of Systems Engineering, highlighted by the employment rate. The curriculum combines the most advanced hardware/software/communication techniques for developing, connecting, and integrating innovative, digital, and intelligent solutions for software or process control applications to improve the quality and increase the productivity in the industrial environment.

  • Knowledge and use of the principles of operation and the impact on the environment of the production, transport and distribution systems of electrical and thermal energy.
  • Knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of technological processes and the operation of electrical, thermal and hydraulic energy use systems.
  • Knowledge of the basic elements related to the management of energy systems, correlated with the legislation in the field and with the principles of the energy market.
  • Knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of designing, modeling of operating regimes and operation optimization of the power systems.
