KHIDI and UMPhST Expand Partnership to Enhance Global Medical Training

On 1st May 2025, the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) – South Korea’s leading institution in health industry development – led by President Soon-Do Cha. This collaboration aims to strengthen the existing ties between the two nations in medical education and the ongoing professional development of healthcare practitioners.

The partnership follows the Korea–Romania health ministers’ meeting on 20th March, as well as preparations for the Korea Medical 2025 international event, organised by KHIDI under the auspices of the South Korean Ministry of Health.

Under this agreement, the MKA e-class online platform, developed by KHIDI, is to become part of UMPhST Târgu Mureș’s medical training programmes.

This initiative reflects a shared commitment to academic excellence and to embracing international technologies and best practices in medical education. The MKA e-class has already garnered international acclaim and is now emerging as a key educational platform within the European Union.

Soon-Do Cha, President of KHIDI, stated:

“It is our strong hope that the MKA e-class will provide medical professionals in Romania with the opportunity to enhance their medical skills, and future doctors with valuable learning experiences. This partnership is a milestone in the expansion of Korean medical training within Europe.”

Registration for the MKA e-class 2025 will open in June, with the new Learning Management System (LMS) platform offering advanced functionalities and tailor-made global course options.
